MOVIE REVIEW

Knight and Day follows Roy Miller (Cruise) and June Havens (Diaz). After crashing into Miller twice on the way home from Wichita to pick up car parts, Havens is told she has been bumped  to a later flight. Meanwhile, Agent Fitzgerald (Saarsgard), believing Havens is working with Miller, puts her back on the plane. Completely taken with Miller, Havens goes to the restroom; and the remaining passengers all attack Miller. After a forward moment where Havens kisses Miller, he calmly informs her that everyone on the plane is dead, including the pilots. Believing it a joke, Havens plays along until Miler enters the cockpit and the bodies of the passengers begin to shift around the plane. Crashing into a corn field, Miller delivers Havens home after drugging her and explaining that other agents will visit and that, if they constantly repeat that she is being taken somewhere "safe and secure", they are planning to kill or imprison her.

Waking up at home, Havens struggles through a day fitting a bridesmaids dress for her sister's wedding, and is shocked to learn her sister would like to sell their father's GTO, which Havens had planned on finishing as a wedding present. Havens is then picked up by a group of intelligence agents. Miller arrives and, through a long gunfight on the highway, kills several agents and reclaims Havens.

Havens flees at the first opportunity and contacts Rodney (Blucas), a firefighter and former boyfriend. Believing Havens is merely stressed and is playing out a fantasy, Rodney tries to comfort her until Miller arrives and kidnaps Havens, handcuffing her and shooting Rodney is a specific non-vital area and telling him it'll make him a hero and virtually guarantee his promotion to Lieutenant.

Miller explains that Havens is safer with him; and Havens agrees to follow him as they go to pick up Simon Feck, a genius inventor who created a perpetual energy battery called the Zephyr. Miller arrives at his safe house where he left Feck, only to find him gone, and the two are ambushed by men belonging to Antonio, a Spanish arms dealer. After again drugging Havens, she drifts in and out of consciousness between their capture and escape from Antonio's men, and Miller brings her to an island that is off the grid, which Miller uses as a safehouse. Accepting a call from her sister after leaving in frustration, Havens accidentally leads the CIA straight to the hideaway. They try to kill Miller and Havens with a remote drone.

Again knocking out Havens, Miller transports them to a train heading through the Alps, which Feck left as a message in code for Miller. Havens, missing a message from Miller, leaves to get dinner and encounters Danny (Rich Manley), a German assassin. Using tricks learned from Miller, Danny is knocked from a window and killed by a train.

Miller, after leaving Havens and Feck in a hotel in Spain, heads to a meet with a cutout from Antonio and is followed by Havens, who is heartbroken to learn that Miller is apparently planning on selling the Zephyr to Antonio. After being picked up by the CIA and meeting the director of counter-intel, she uses a pen transmitter to notify them when Miller returns with the Zephyr, which is showing signs of overheating. After leading the CIA agents on a chase, Miller is apparently shot and falls into a canal.

Returning home, Havens heads to an address she remembered from Miller's iPhone, where she finds his parents and learns that his real name is Matthew Knight. They believe their son, a former Army sergeant and Eagle Scout, is dead; but they are fabulously wealthy from winning lotteries and sweepstakes they don't remember entering. Leaving a message that she has the Zephyr, she is captured by Antonio's men and taken back to Spain. She is drugged with truth serum before being rescued by Miller, who was tracking Fitzgerald, who was delivering Feck to Antonio.

Chasing Fitzgerald, Miller saves Feck from a bullet wound after handing over the Zephyr in a small satchel. Feck comments that the battery is unstable. The battery explodes, killing Fitzgerald; and Miller collapses from a gunshot wound. After waking in the hospital, Miller receives an apology from the director, who tells him that Havens has returned home and claims that Miller can't be distracted. Miller is later given medication by a nurse, who turns out to be Havens. After Havens breaks Miller out of the hospital, he wakes up in the rebuilt GTO that belonged to Havens's father. After Miller asking what day it is, Havens kisses him and says it's someday. This is a reference from the start of the movie that they both have things they want to do someday, and Havens begins to drive towards Cape Horn.

GAME REVIEW

The Forgotten Sands returns to the storyline established by Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and concluded by Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones.[11]  On December 14, 2009, Ubisoft UK released the first details of the story on their official video portal.[12]

The game is an interquel, taking place in the seven year gap[13] between The Sands of Time and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The Prince character is supposed to be a cross between the character models in these two games. Once again he will be voiced by Yuri Lowenthal.[14]

The plot of main game, developed for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, begins as the Prince is riding through a desert on his horse, on a quest to see his brother, Malik, and learn about leadership from him. When the Prince arrives at Malik's kingdom, he finds it under attack by an army who he proposes wants a treasure buried deep within. The Prince infiltrates Malik's kingdom, and meets up with Malik in the treasure vaults.

Here, Malik proposes that he is fighting a losing battle, and needs to rely on a last resort or be forced to retreat. The Prince strongly objects, but Malik releases Solomon's Army using a magical seal. Solomon's Army is an assortment of different creatures, all made of sand, supposedly enough to outnumber the grains of sand in the desert. The Prince and Malik both manage to obtain halves of the seal used to unleash the army, protecting them from being turned into sand statues, which was the fate of the rest of the kingdom. The seals also allow them to absorb the power of the enemies they defeat.

Malik is separated from the Prince, who finds a portal to the domain of Razia, a Djinn. Razia tells the Prince that the only way to reimprison Solomon's Army is to reunite both halves of the seal used to bind them. Razia gives the Prince special powers, and has him set out to find Malik, and the other half of the seal. When the Prince finds Malik, he isn't interested in stopping the Army of Solomon, but instead wants to destroy it and use its power to become more powerful a leader. The Prince finds Razia again, and asks her about this, and she proposes it's an effect of absorbing too much of the power of Solomon's Army, and that the power she gave the Prince offered him protection from this effect.

The Prince again sets out to find Malik, but this time forcibly take his half of the seal, but Malik is stronger and manages to escape. Pursuing Malik again, the Prince finds Ratash, the leader of Solomon's Army, pursuing anyone in possession of the seal. After the Prince outruns him, he concludes Ratash must now be chasing Malik, and so sets out to aid him. The Prince arrives in the throne room to find Malik and Ratash fighting, and he aids Malik. The Prince and Malik seem to kill Ratash, and Malik absorbs his power, shattering his half of the seal. Malik then runs off, seemingly in a hysterical fit, using some of Ratash's powers to escape.

The Prince pursues him, and again finds Razia instead. Razia explains that Ratash cannot be killed by any ordinary sword, and that what actually happened was quite different than what the Prince saw. Ratash has actually killed Malik, and possessed his body. The Prince doesn't believe this, but sets out anyways to find the Djinn Sword, which Razia says can kill Ratash.

Along the way, the Prince chases Ratash, witnessing Ratash gaining so much power back, that he can mutate Malik's body back to his original form. The Prince loses a battle to Ratash and, convinced his brother is in fact dead now, finds the Djinn Sword. With this sword, the Prince again sets out to find Ratash. When he does, Ratash is now gigantic, literally fed by the sandstorm which has come over the palace.

Despite this, the Prince uses the sword to kill Ratash, and when the sandstorm and battle both subside, he finds Malik laying next to him, dying. Malik says to tell their father that Prince will be a mighty leader, then dies. The Prince then sets out to inform his father of Malik's death.
[edit] Gameplay

The Forgotten Sands is available on all major gaming platforms and is to "feature many of the fan-favorite elements from the original series as well as new gameplay innovations", according to a press release from Ubisoft. The DS, PSP and Wii versions are developed separately and will feature different gameplay than the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows versions.[6] With Ubisoft's feature Uplay, players may unlock Ezio, the main character from Assassin's Creed II.

In the PS3 \ Xbox 360 \ PC game, Prince has the ability to rewind time from the very beginning of the game and throughout the game he learns new powers. The biggest new feature is the addition of elemental powers,[13] which bring a new dimension to the core gameplay, because of the way these powers interact with each other and the Prince's other abilities. There are four core powers in the game: Fire, Ice, Wind and Earth. Each of them translates to a different power during combat, but Razia also gives the Prince the ability to "solidify" water fountains and turn them into climbable columns.[13] Besides these core powers, there are also minor powers, that can be purchased to enhance the Prince's abilities from a djinn named Razia.[15] These minor powers include a shield and the power to summon small tornadoes.[13] The combat in the game is similar to combat mechanics found in The Sands of Time. The Prince will be able to fight multiple enemies in one battle, up to 50 at once.[13] An important part of the combat is "crowd control" and evading enemies, as well as combos.[13] There is no blocking and there are no quick time events in the game.[16]

Movie Review

Raavan (Hindi: रावण) is a 2010 Hindi film directed and co-written by Mani Ratnam. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram in the lead roles while Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Priyamani  feature in key supporting roles. It was simultaneously released in Tamil  as Raavanan  with a slightly different cast, which would also be dubbed into Telugu[2]  and other regional languages. The film's score and soundtrack is composed by A. R. Rahman.[3][4]  The film was released on 18 June 2010.[5]  The film's premiere was held in London on 16 June 2010.[6]

==Plot== NDTV.com: 'Raavan' earns Rs 20 crore worldwide on opening day. The film opens with shots showing Beera Munda (Abhishek Bachchan) jumping off a cliff into the water. His gang is busy distracting the police. Police vehicles are set ablaze and women seduce policemen into a trap whereby Beera's henchmen attack. The policemen are ruthlessly murdered. Raagini Sharma(Aishwarya Rai), whilst on a boating trip, is kidnapped by Beera. Dev Pratap Sharma (Vikram), her husband and a senior police officer, is informed of the incident.

A brief montage of sorts showcases the story of Beera. He is seen as a local hero, a sort of Robin Hood- who runs a parallel govt, with his brothers - Siddharth (Ravi Kishan) and Laxmana Pratap (Nikhil Dwivedi). Though considered a terrorist by the local police, Beera is repected by the villagers. He kidnaps Raagini hoping to avenge the death of his sister Serena (Priyamani).

Dev and his team enter the forests with the aid of Sanjeevani Kumar(Govinda)- a local forest guard. Despite searching deep in the forests, Dev is unable to hunt down Beera.

Meanwhile, Raagini developes feelings for Beera after she hears the story of his sister's death. Dev had led an encounter against Beera during Serena's wedding. Dev's shot grazes Veera in the neck. Beera is led out of the fiasco by his gang. The police pressurize Serena into revealing Beera's hideout. When she refuses, she is subjected to physical and sexual assault. Veera returns home to find Serena distraught and traumatised. The next day, Serena commits suicide by drowning in a nearby well.

Unhappy with the way his brother is leading a war causing distress to his gang,Laxmana Pratap decides to offer a truce to Dev. Dev initially seems to agree, but when Laxmana Pratap comes out in the open, Dev shoots him to death- thus revealing that he considers the destruction Beera being more important than saving his wife.

Beera and Siddharth are enraged and attack Dev's camp and wipe it out completely. A final confrontation between Beera and Dev takes place on a rickety bridge - where Veera triumphs over Dev - when he decides not to let Dev die. He tells Dev he is letting him live because of his wife. Dev manages to extricate himself out and finds Raagini bound and tied up - with Beera leaving her.

However - Dev is not entirely happy and while returning to their hometown, Dev accuses Raagini of infidelity and informs her that it was Beera who told him so. Furious, Raagini leaves Dev to meet Beera through Siddharth. She manages to meet him and and asks him why he had accused her of doing so. Beera tells her he said that he had protected Raagini safely for all the fourteen days and not anything else. He quickly realizes that Dev lied, hoping Raagini would lead him to his hideout.

Dev appears with a police team and confront the duo. Raagini tries to save Beera, but he pushes her out of the line of fire. He is shot multiple times, whereby he falls off the cliff.

Movie Review

Iraqi General Mohammed Al-Rawi (Yigal Naor), hiding in Baghdad, is meeting with his aides talking about the invasion of Iraq. Al-Rawi suggests that they wait until the Americans arrive and perhaps make his army an offer to join their forces.

Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller (Matt Damon) and his squad investigate a warehouse, believed to be holding Weapons of Mass Destruction. But they find that the warehouse is empty. At a debriefing, Miller brings up the point that the majority of the intel given to him is inaccurate and anonymous, stating that on his last three attempts to find WMDs, his team had come up with nothing. High-ranking officials quickly debunk Miller's theory about the intelligence being false. After the debriefing, Miller meets Martin Brown (Brendan Gleeson), a CIA officer based in the Middle East who tells Miller that the next place he is going to investigate for WMDs is also empty, as a team had already searched there two months ago.

Meanwhile, Clark Poundstone (Greg Kinnear) is welcoming Ahmed Zubadi (Raad Rawi) an Iraqi politician at Saddam International Airport, where he is interrogated by journalist Lawrie Dayne (Amy Ryan). She asks if she could speak to "Magellan", to which Poundstone says that he is heavily "locked up".

While investigating another site, Miller is approached by the Iraqi who calls himself "Freddie" (Khalid Abdalla), who tells Miller that he saw Al-Rawi at the meeting in a nearby house. Miller and his men swiftly burst into the house. Al-Rawi narrowly escapes, but one of his henchmen is taken into custody. Before Miller can extract any more information, the man is taken by US Army Special Forces, sent by Poundstone.

Miller goes to Brown's hotel in the green zone and tells him what happened. Brown gets permission for Miller to visit the man taken by Delta Force. Before leaving, he is approached by Wall Street Journal correspondent Lawrie Dayne. Miller soon finds the Iraqi informant in prison. Now severely wounded, the man responds to Miller's question with one word: "Jordan". With Brown's help, Miller's suspicions are confirmed that Al-Rawi met with Poundstone in February in Jordan as Poundstone's inside man.

When Miller tries to meet with Al-Rawi, he is kidnapped by Al-Rawi's men because Poundstone announced the decision to disarm the entire Iraqi army. Al-Rawi tells Miller that he told Poundstone there had been no WMD program since the First Persian Gulf War; Poundstone apparently lied to his superiors in Washington – so that Iraq would be invaded. American forces commence an attack on Al-Rawi's positions, and the general flees. Meanwhile, Miller kills his captor and races to capture Al Rawi. When he finally manages to catch up with him, Freddie suddenly appears and kills Al-Rawi, saying to Miller, "It's not for you to decide what happens here." Later in his hotel room, Miller writes a report of everything that happened.

Miller confronts Poundstone in a meeting and gives him the report. Poundstone tells Miller that WMDs do not matter. Then Miller violently grabs Poundstone, saying "the reason we go to war always matters.", but they are broken up. Poundstone then rejoins the Iraqi meeting, only to see the Iraqi factional leaders yelling at each other and leaving the meeting. Afterwards, Dayne receives an e-mailed copy of Miller's report. Miller sent it to all major news agencies around the world. The camera then pans out to show Miller driving off on the Iraqi highway, with the Iraqi oil fields in the background.

Movie review

In 2054, an experimental Washington, D.C. police force called Precrime has completely cut murder in the city. Precrime employs three "precogs", mutated humans with precognition  to view murders that occur in the future; the officers of Precrime then analyze and interpret the three visions to track down and stop the murder before it happens. John Anderton is chief of the force, working under its director Lamar Burgess, however, he hides the fact that he is addicted to an illegal psychoactive drug called neuroin since the disappearance of his son Sean, which also caused his wife Lara to leave him.

On the eve of the Precrime program being taken to a national level, a Department of Justice representative, Danny Witwer, arrives to investigate the program. During Witwer's visit, the precogs witness Anderton killing a man named Leo Crow in a few days; Anderton escapes the facility and a subsequent manhunt once the precrime is discovered. Believing himself to be set up by Witwer, who has discovered his addiction, Anderton tracks down Dr. Iris Hineman, the lead researcher for Precrime. She reveals that the precogs do not always agree about the future, and that the differing vision, a "minority report," could show Anderton not committing the murder and thus prove his innocence. Anderton then undergoes an eye replacement surgery in order to avoid being detected by iris trackers around the city. He then uses his old eyes to enter Precrime headquarters and abduct Agatha, the precog that Hineman noted often had the minority report.

Using Agatha's future insight to avoid capture, Anderton takes Agatha to a hacker to try to extract her vision of Leo Crow's murder, but finds it is the same as the original report. However, Agatha then provides Anderton with her vision of the death of a woman named Anne Lively, which Anderton records. Chased by Precrime, Anderton and Agatha end up at the apartment where Crow is to die; they find his room, covered with hundreds of pictures of children including Sean. When Crow enters, Anderton holds him at gunpoint, but Crow denies any involvement with Sean, and that he is only here to be killed by Anderton to have his family paid off handsomely. Anderton refuses to kill Crow and demands to know who had set this up, but Crow forces himself on Anderton's gun and makes him pull the trigger, killing him as predicted. Anderton and Agatha flee to Lara's home, while Witwer and Precrime investigate the crime scene.

Witwer doubts Anderton killed in cold blood, and his investigation leads him to discover the Anne Lively murder. He approaches Burgess to reveal that the Ann Lively precog vision differs slightly from the one that Anderton had downloaded from Agatha. Witwer proposes these two visions represent separate murders; because precogs sometimes experience relapses of past murders, or "echoes," Witwer explains someone could get away with murder by hiring someone to try and kill Lively, and allowing the crime to be prevented by Precrime. Having viewed the precog vision beforehand, the murderer would then kill Lively in the exact same way as depicted in the precog vision, fooling Precrime into thinking they were viewing an echo and not a separate murder. Witwer intuits that the murderer would have to be someone high up in Precrime, like Burgess, in order to have viewed the precog vision and then erase it from the Precrime archives. Burgess then kills Witwer, noting that without Agatha, the precog hive mind wouldn't be able to predict this murder.

After being taken in by Lara, Anderton comes to realize that Anne Lively is Agatha's mother, and the knowledge of her death is the reason for the manhunt against him, and shares this with Lara. Precrime eventually arrives at Lara's home and Anderton is taken into custody, while Agatha is put back into the system. Burgess, preparing for a celebratory dinner for the Precrime program, consoles Lara, but accidentally reveals more about Lively's murder then he should know. Lara calls in help from Anderton's former friends to free Anderton from prison. During the dinner, Anderton calls Burgess while Agatha's vision of Lively's death is played for the guests. The footage clearly shows Burgess as the murderer, having set up a false target just as Witwer had predicted. Burgess had killed Lively to stop her from attempting to take her daughter Agatha back. Burgess had then set up Anderton in order to cover up Anderton's knowledge.

As Burgess finds and draws a gun on Anderton, Precrime receives reports that Burgess will kill Anderton. Anderton notes to Burgess the dilemma he is in: either he can kill Anderton, thus demonstrating Precrime works but becoming a murderer himself, or he can spare him, showing Precrime as a failure. Anderton reveals the fundamental flaw of the system: if one knows his or her own future, he or she can change it. Burgess decides to commit suicide and kills himself as Precrime arrive at the scene. As a result, the Precrime division is shut down, with all those incarcerated by them released. Anderton later reunites with Lara (shown pregnant with their second child), while the three precogs are allowed to live out their normal lives, far out on a remote island, where they can no longer be troubled by future visions.

Movie Review

In New York City in 1991, an 11-year-old girl named Ally Craig witnesses the murder of her mother on a New York City Subway platform, on the F Line at the 18th Avenue and McDonald Avenue  elevated station in Brooklyn. She is shot in the chest by two muggers trying to rob her. 10 Years later, Ally (Emilie de Ravin) is a student at New York University who lives at home with her overprotective detective father, Neil (Chris Cooper).

Tyler Hawkins (Robert Pattinson), a moody, directionless 21 year-old is auditing classes at NYU and working in a bookstore. He has had a strained relationship with his businessman father, Charles (Pierce Brosnan) since his brother Michael's suicide. Charles appears to lack concern for Tyler's younger sister, Caroline (Ruby Jerins), with whom Tyler is very close.

One night, Tyler and his troublemaking roommate Aidan (Tate Ellington) find themselves in trouble with Neil. Later, Aidan sees Neil dropping Ally off at NYU. He decides to retaliate against the detective by having Tyler sleep with and ultimately dump Ally. Tyler reluctantly agrees to meet her. After spending some time with Ally, the two bond over the losses in their pasts and begin to fall for each other. When Ally sleeps over at Tyler's house without informing her father, she and her father have a fight, ending with Neil hitting her. Ally then moves in with Tyler and Aiden. When Neil eventually visits, he recognizes Tyler and they fight furiously. Tyler provokes Neil by confessing to Aidan's ill-advised plan and his reason for meeting Ally which in turn forces Tyler to confess everything to Ally. She leaves him angrily and returns to her father's home. The couple remain alienated until Aidan visits her to explain that only he is to blame, and that Tyler was sincerely in love with her.

Shortly thereafter, Caroline gets teased by girls in her class who think she's "a freak of nature". They cut her hair off at a birthday party and when they tease her in front of Tyler, he turns violent and ends up in jail once again. Some good comes out of this incident because afterwards Tyler and Charles begin to reconnect. Toward the end of the film, Charles asks Tyler to meet with lawyers at his office. Tyler looks out the window of his father's office over Manhattan, and as the camera view widens we see that he is in an office on the 88th floor of the World Trade Center. It is later revealed on a chalkboard in Caroline's school that the date is September 11, 2001. Subsequently, Tyler dies in the terrorist attack to the World Trade Center. A montage of all the characters including: Neil, Aiden, Caroline and Ally witnessing the disaster follows this scene.

After his death, short scenes of the main characters are shown around a year later, indicated by Caroline's long hair. One of which is Charles, Les, Diane, and Caroline standing around Tyler's tombstone, with an engraving that reads "Loving Brother, Loving Son." In the end, Caroline and Charles seem to have a healthy father-daughter relationship. Aidan, who has since got a tattoo of Tyler's name on his arm, is working hard in school. The movie concludes with Ally finally taking the subway.

Movie Review

Overview

The movie tells the origins of Solomon Kane and is hoped to be the first of a trilogy of movies. When the story opens Kane is a mercenary of Queen Elizabeth I fighting in North Africa, but after an encounter with a demon, The Devil's Reaper, he realizes he must seek redemption or have his soul damned to Hell. He returns to England and lives a life of peace, converting to puritanism, but soon the doings of an evil sorcerer (Malachi) upset his plans and he must take up arms again.

The film opens in North Africa, 1600, with the British mercenary, Solomon Kane, leading the crew of his ship into battle against the Ottoman occupiers of a fortress town. After defeating the Ottoman defenders, Solomon and his men enter the fortress, only to enter a room of enchanted mirrors. Demons trapped within the mirrors attack and kill most of the crew, but Solomon fights his way into the throne room of the fortress. Inside, as he helps himself to the fortress's treasure, a demon dressed in hooded black robes and armed with a flaming sword appears. The demon announces itself as the Devil's Reaper and tells Solomon his evil deeds have irrevocably damned his soul, and he is now destined for Hell. After a brief duel, Solomon cries "I am not yet ready for Hell!" and leaps from the throne room window into the sea. As he falls to safety, the Reaper snarls his soul will be the Devil's.

Following his encounter with The Devil's Reaper, Solomon finds sanctuary in an English monastery. However, due to the Abbot's dreams, Solomon is soon expelled and sent back to his ancestral estates in Devon, where Solomon has not been since his father disowned him. Along the way he is ambushed by robbers and, as he has fully embraced a life of peace and will not fight back, he is knocked unconscious. He is found and treated by the Crowthorns, a family of puritans heading west to travel to the New World. He travels with them but the family is itself ambushed by corrupted followers of the sorcerer Malachi and his brutal lieutenant, the Masked Rider. Most of the family is killed, except Meredith, who is kidnapped, and her mother Katherine. When Samual, Meredith's younger brother (who Solomon had befriended) is mercilessly slain right before his shocked eyes, an enraged Solomon charges into battle, killing several (who as they die return to normal). The head of the family, William Crowthorn, declares as his last words that Solomon's soul will be redeemed if he rescues Meredith. Solomon Kane, having now re-embraced a life of violence in said ambush to fight off the attackers, takes a horse, arms himself and sets out in pursuit.

Solomon Kane battles Malachi's followers across the countryside, rescuing many captives but not finding Meredith. On his journey, he meets a deranged priest who informs him Malachi's followers are taking the weaker survivors of their raids as slaves, while corrupting the strong into soldiers. The priest tries to feed Solomon to his parish (who have been turned into undead monsters by Malachi), but Solomon escapes, only to be set upon by the robbers who attacked him earlier, who have been turned by the Rider into soldiers of Malachi. Killing all but one of the robbers for interrogation, Solomon is told that Meredith is dead. Solomon refuses to believe this and angrily leaves the robber for the undead to feed on. Moving on, Solomon comes to a village, where he heads to an Inn and drinks to excess, his soul now definitely damned for not saving the girl. Former shipmates recognise him and try to recruit him as a leader of a resistance against Malachi. Kane refuses. However, Malachi's followers hear of this and attack the Inn at dawn, crucifying any members of the attempted resistance movement including Kane. As they move away, a cart containing Meredith passes behind them. She recognises Kane and calls out. He realises that he still has a chance to save her and pulls himself off the cross. Before Malachi's remaining men can kill him, they are killed by survivors of the resistance, who take Solomon to safety.

Kane is treated with magic by an Old Crone pagan and is soon ready to return to the pursuit. The resistance explain some of Malachi's background (that he was once a priest who became a sorcerer to gain power) and reveal that he now lives in Kane's ancestral home. Kane leads them into the castle via an underground passage. As the resistance fights Malachi's soldiers, Kane heads for the dungeons and frees many of the captives. He does not find Meredith but he does find his father, emaciated and locked in sorcerous chains. His father explains that the Masked Rider is really Kane's older brother Marcus Kane, whom Kane thought he had killed in an accident shortly after he was banished as a teenager. Marcus was, however, only severely injured and left in a coma: after the priests and healers failed to awake him, Solomon's father turned to Malachi, who brought Marcus back to life: however, Marcus was horribly disfigured and left subservient to Malachi, who turned Marcus into his enforcer: the Masked Rider. At his father's request to free him, Solomon shoots his father dead and heads to the throne room to confront Malachi.

In the throne room, Kane confronts Malachi, who remarks everything that has happened to Solomon was meant to lead him to this place before disappearing. Solomon also finds Meredith caged in the throne room: before she can warn him it is a trap, Marcus stabs Solomon in the back with his sword. Despite his injury, Solomon pleads with his brother, but his cries fall on deaf ears so he grudgingly draws his sword and the two brothers fight to the death: after a lengthy battle (in which Solomon manages to unmask Marcus, enraging his brother), Solomon sets fire to Marcus and (reluctantly) decapitates him. At the same time, Malachi uses Meredith's "innocent blood" to open a portal, thus releasing a demon sent to claim Solomon's soul, which attacks Kane. After a desperate fight, Kane shoots Malachi in the head, and all three (Kane, Malachi and the demon) are apparently pulled into Hell. It transpires that Kane, in saving Meredith from Malachi, redeemed his soul and so escapes Hell. Meredith travels to America with her mother, while Solomon, after burying his father and brother, declares that evil exists elsewhere in the world and that he will put an end to it.

Movie Review

The plot follows Dastan (Jake Gyllenhaal), a street urchin in Persia (Iran), historically in the Persian Empire in the sixth century. After showing courage in the market place, he is adopted by the king. Fifteen years later, Dastan, and his royal blooded foster brothers Garsiv and Tus lead the Persian army in an attack on the sacred city of Alamut, under the assumption that the city's people are selling weapons to their enemies, as shown by Nizam (Ben Kingsley), the King's brother and adviser. As Garsiv leads the initial assault, Dastan decides to lead a surprise attack with his friend Bis (Reece Ritchie) against the orders of his brother. He manages to open the eastern gate of Alamut and prevents further casualties.[3]  During the fight in the city, Dastan defeats one of Princess Tamina's (Gemma Arterton) guards who was in the possession of the mythical Dagger of Time. The dagger gives its owner the ability to go back in time for a short period so that the user can try to correct any mistake or redo any moment. Alamut falls to the Persians, Tamina is captured and is offered as a wife for Tus, which would make the city of Alamut a part of the Persian Empire.

The Persians celebrate their victory, but during the celebration Prince Dastan is fooled into presenting a poisoned gown — seemingly given to him by Tus — to King Sharaman (Ronald Pickup), which fatally burns the king. Prince Dastan is held as the perpetrator of his father's murder. He escapes the castle with Princess Tamina. Together, they embark on a journey — the Prince wants to prove his innocence, while Tamina wants to safeguard the Dagger of Time. On the first night, Tamina attempts to kill the prince and recover the dagger, but Dastan accidentally activates the dagger and learns about its ability to rewind time for one minute and in doing so, prevents Tamina from attacking. Dastan believes that Tus knew about the dagger and framed Dastan for their father's murder in an attempt to seize the throne and the dagger, thus becoming the most powerful ruler of Persia.

During their journey, the duo meets a group of merchant-bandits, in the valley of slaves, including entrepreneur and ostrich racing-organizer Sheik Amar (Alfred Molina) with his friend Seso (Steve Toussaint) who hails from the Ngbaka, masters of the throwing knives. Dastan offers Tamina up as a slave in return for their hospitality. However, the bandits try to take the Dagger of Time and take Dastan to the newly crowned Tus because of the reward for his capture; they fail in the process, while the two escape.

Dastan and Tamina return to Persia for King Sharaman's funeral. Dastan tries to convince his uncle Nizam that he was not the cause of his father's death, only to discover the dagger was taken by Tamina. Instead, he notices the burns on Nizam's hands, which indicate he was the one who set up the murder of the King. Furthermore, Nizam has set up an ambush for Dastan along the Persian streets, and after a conflict with his brother Garsiv, Dastan escapes.

Dastan catches up with Tamina and explains that the villainous brother of the King, Nizam[4] was behind it all. The attack of Alamut was based on false allegations provided by Nizam and promoted with a motive to attain the Dagger of Time and use it with the massive Sandglass, which is hidden under the city of Alamut. This way, Nizam would go back in time before he had saved Sharaman from being attacked by a lion and undo the act, hence ensure that he becomes the King of Persia. However, Tamina reveals that the Sandglass is the vessel holding the Sands of Time, which the Gods conjured to punish humanity for its sins. A pure hearted girl, offering her life, convinced them to seal the sands; should the Dagger of Time be used to pierce the Sandglass, the sands would be released and destroy the entire world. The holder of the dagger may also turn back time as far as they please. The pair then put aside their differences and agree to work together to protect the dagger.

Meanwhile, back in Persia, Nizam, aware that Dastan knows he was responsible, tries to convince the newly-crowned King Tus and Garsiv that Dastan is trying to overthrow them and must be killed without a trial to avoid a rebellion. When this fails, Nizam hires the Hassansins, a group of highly-skilled warriors who once served as hired killers for Persian royalty. Nizam had kept the sect hidden for his own ends after Sharaman had them disbanded.

Dastan and Tamina are again captured by Sheik Amar, Seso, and their group because of the chaos they caused back at the valley. Sheik intends to claim the reward for turning them in to renew his business. But that night, when everyone is asleep, the Hassansin leader (Gísli Örn Garðarsson) attacks the group in an oasis by controlling a number of vipers. Many of the group die, but Dastan uses the dagger to rewind time, and, foreseeing the attack, manages to kill all the snakes single-handedly, saving Seso in the process. The Hassansin leader then leaves in a sand dervish.

The next day, the pair, now accompanied by Sheik and Seso, travel to the secret sanctuary in the mountains near India, where it's possible to seal the dagger by returning it to the stone where it came from. In order to do so, Tamina would have to sacrifice herself, but it fails as they run into Garsiv's men. Dastan, however, manages to persuade his brother that he is innocent, only for Garsiv to be killed by a flurry of spike-knives thrown by a Hassansin. The Hassanin attack, killing many of the group, while their leader manages to snatch the Dagger of Time from Tamina (who was knocked unconscious in the battle) by using a trained snake. However, Dastan is saved from the last Hassansin by Garsiv, who then succumbs to his injuries.

Tamina and Dastan, as well as Sheik Amar and Seso, return to Alamut to reveal the truth about Nizam and the dagger to Tus. First, they must get the dagger, which is kept in the sacred temple, guarded by the Hassansin who killed Garsiv. Seso, the master of throwing knives, fights the spike-wielding Hassansin to obtain the dagger. He manages to kill the Hassansin after a well aimed throw, yet is fatally wounded in the process. Seso manages to throw the Dagger out of the window to Sheik and Dastan before dying. Sheik Amar then distracts the guards by serving as a decoy while Dastan shows the truth about the Dagger to his brother Tus by killing himself, only to have Tus rewind time with the dagger. Afterward, Tus is killed by Nizam, and Dastan is incapacitated by another Hassasin. The Dagger is once again in Nizam's hands, but Dastan manages to defeat the Hassasin with Tamina's help. She realises that the Hassansin had been a spy inside the city of Alamut and must have been the one who told Nizam about the Dagger.

Nizam goes to the Sandglass caves beneath Alamut, as Dastan and Tamina race to stop him. Tamina opens a secret gate leading to the chamber, allowing them to take a short cut to the Sandglass. En route, they encounter the leader of the Hassansins; however, after a close fight, Tamina stabs the Hassansin in the eye with a snake's fangs, allowing Dastan to mortally wound and throw him into the chasm. Dastan and Tamina then kiss. They then manage to reach Nizam as he pierces the Sandglass with the Dagger. During the final confrontation, Nizam knocks Tamina over the edge of the chasm and Dastan desperately catches her hand. Knowing he cannot stop Nizam and save her, Tamina professes her love for Dastan and lets go, sacrificing herself so Dastan can stop Nizam. Dastan fights Nizam as they both hold their hands on the Dagger. Dastan then uses the Dagger's button to open the Sands of Time container and use its power against Nizam. The Sandglass slowly cracks and the sandstorm is shown destroying Alamut. Dastan is then able to use the Dagger and turn back the time as the Sandglass breaks, ending up at the point when he first held the Dagger during the siege of Alamut.

Dastan uses his knowledge to reveal Nizam's evil plan to his brothers, gaining their acceptance by revealing what Tus told him about the meeting with their father prior to the attack. Exposed, Nizam attempts to kill Dastan, but ends up stabbed and killed by Tus, using his blade. After apologizing for the ransacking of her city, Tus suggests that perhaps Tamina should become Dastan's wife as a sign of good will. The Prince returns the Dagger of Time to her as a gift, as she looks at him surprised. The two of them are next shown talking to each other and Tamina expressing her surprise about Dastan's sudden change in behavior and hinting that he may have discovered something to which he replies that they are in control of their own destiny.
